Mini Leagues Rules

● - Players should arrive at least half an hour before their first match on Saturday. (Girls please meet in Cage 1 at least 40 minutes before your first game.  The girls will be playing 7-a-side, on pitch  4 (The back pitch on the clubhouse side).

   - Academy  should attend at 9.30 Saturday morning.

● Match Length 10 minutes per half quick turnaround break, roll on, roll off substitutions. Academy games will be 10 minutes each.

● 3 Points for a win, 1 point for a draw, if even points league position will be based on 1st head to head,, 2nd penalty shootout.

● Retreat Line: Opposing players must retreat outside the retreat line when the goalkeeper is taking a kick-out or rolling the ball out. Opposing players cannot advance until the ball is received by the full backs etc. Goalkeeper cannot kick the ball from his hands

● For a sideline ball there will be a throw in for the U10’s to U11’s and the girls and a kick in/dribble in for the U7’s to U9’s, a goal cannot be scored from a direct kick in, there must be a pass to a teammate involved.

● The goalkeepers are not allowed to handle the ball from a back pass (exc U7’s).

● Where a team goes ahead by 3 or more goals the opposition may bring on an additional player if available until the lead is less than 3 goals.

● Straight for penalties for the Semis and Final.

● Players to wear the colour of the team allotted to them where possible eg Ireland - wear green If unsure check with your manager.

● Managers must be registered and not additional friends allowed, they must also wear a red top (Leixlip United top if possible or their own club colours) or will be given a red bib if necessary.

● Managers can get their players’ contact details at the club on Friday afternoon. They should be at the club for 5 o’clock on Friday evening.

● Managers to ensure teams are ready to kick off at the allotted times.

● Managers to ensure all players are clear of pitches when not playing – i.e. behind barriers or at their warm up area.

● Also for teams entering and leaving the pitches please use the side entrance in the middle of the pitch beside the club house.

● Respect the referees decision at all times, never criticise match officials or players during or after a match in front of players and spectators.

● Managers please also ensure parents do not criticise officials or players on the day. Positive encouragement is only allowed from the sidelines For any issues please highlight to the stewards

● Young players play for fun and enjoyment and this should take priority over structured competition and winning is not the only objective.

● Please note no Parents are allowed on the pitches at any time and should not be involved in coaching from the sideline.

● The aim is to have all teams competitive and well matched, therefore teams may be subject to change where the committee deem necessary.

● All matches will be played on our Grass Pitch so please ensure players wear the appropriate boots and shin guards.

● Players should bring adequate water for the tournament, no isotonic drinks should be used.

● The Sunday Semi’s & Final details will be announced on Saturday evening.

● Warm up areas will be available in the cages on the days for teams use.

● The Club Shop will be open providing tea, coffee and refreshments on the day. Hot food will be available on the Saturday.

● Photos will be taken on the day and are subject to Leixlip United Use
